Monthly Roundups

Monthly Roundup: Oct 2023

Monthly Roundup: Oct 2023

Shorebirds at our raptor watch sites and better seabirds from land than from sea made for a slightly offbeat October, but the month still brought lots of expected migrants too.

Highlights

  • Seabirds and shorebirds at our raptor watch sites: Red-footed Booby at Henderson Waves and Eurasian Curlew at Mount Faber
  • Lesser Frigatebird at Hampstead Wetlands Park
  • Significant numbers of Black Kite, with 7 independent records
  • Three Greater Spotted Eagles (more in November)
