Breeds from northwestern India through southwestern Thailand.

Identification

Blackish plumage with greyish collar consisting of nape, mantle, neck and breast.

Habitat

Widespread, including urban areas, gardens, scrubland, mangroves.

Behaviour

Noisy, roosts communally in large numbers.
